Welcome to this webpage. I’m Susai Benjamin and I am the Labor Candidate for the State seat of Seven Hills.

The next State elections in New South Wales will be held on 28th March 2015. As a new State seat that was formed following a re-distribution in 2013, this will be the first time that a candidate has contested this seat.

I was born in India and I have made the Seven Hills area my home since 1987 when I migrated here with my Australian-born wife, Anne. We have raised our three children here and are both active in the local community.

I am deeply committed to our local area and I believe we all deserve the best opportunities for ourselves, our families and our communities.

In the past twenty years, I have expressed this commitment:

  • working with neighbourhood groups to develop a park and provide play areas for children to play;
  • organizing a local street improvement committee that lead to many improvements including tree-planting;
  • being actively involved with community groups, such as Multicultural Resource Centre and Arts groups;
  • working as a Blacktown City Councillor in Ward 3 and advocating for the local community;
  • since 2004 working to establish a community legal service for the local community.

Now, I would like to contribute beyond the local area by serving as a Member of the NSW Parliament, not losing my commitment to my community, but drawing on what I have learned from my close involvement in the community to serve the people of NSW.
